Non -Comprehensive HVAC Maintenance (Mitsubishi Electric Package Units, Mitsubishi Ducted Splits, Frego/TCL/White-Westinghouse Split AC Systems)
Client: Roum Orthodox Church – Doha
Location: Doha, Qatar
Scope: Annual HVAC maintenance for Mitsubishi Electric package units, Mitsubishi ducted split units, Frego/TCL/White-Westinghouse split AC systems, plus limited electrical and plumbing support.
The Roum Orthodox Church in Doha is a large and active religious facility with varying cooling demands throughout the week. Large prayer services, community events, and seasonal ceremonies place continuous stress on the building’s HVAC systems. Maintaining a cool, comfortable, and acoustically quiet environment is essential for the worship experience.
The facility’s cooling infrastructure consists of a combination of:
Each system type plays a specific role in controlling temperature, humidity, and airflow across the entire facility.
Caltiq Trading, Contracting & Maintenance (CTCM) was assigned the HVAC-centered AMC contract for the church, requiring detailed engineering oversight, airflow optimization, preventive inspections, and rapid corrective response to ensure uninterrupted comfort during high-occupancy events.
HVAC is the central focus of this project. Caltiq performed full maintenance across all AC system types installed in the facility.
The prayer hall — the largest and most temperature-sensitive zone — is cooled by Mitsubishi Electric package units, known for their high-capacity output and stable operation. However, these units require regular service to maintain efficiency in Qatar’s climate.
Caltiq executed:
Caltiq fine-tuned the cooling cycles to handle extreme heat loads during full-capacity ceremonies, ensuring quick temperature recovery and even cooling.
These systems provide quieter, more controlled airflow suitable for medium-sized rooms.
Caltiq delivered:
Caltiq solved previous issues of uneven cooling by recalibrating airflow and eliminating duct leakage.
These units serve small rooms, storage zones, caretaker areas, and offices.
Maintenance included:
Frequent drain blockages and reduced cooling efficiency — common in hot climates — were addressed systematically.
Caltiq maintained auxiliary ventilation systems essential for maintaining indoor comfort:
Work included motor amperage checks, belt replacements, housing cleaning, and airflow measurement to improve indoor air quality and reduce humidity.
Electrical works were performed only to ensure HVAC and fans operate safely:
This improved the reliability and safety of compressors, blowers, and control systems.
To maintain smooth facility operations, Caltiq provided limited plumbing support:
Plumbing scope remained minimal, focusing only on tasks that affected building comfort.
During peak services, the hall experienced temperature imbalance.
Solution:
Side halls received uneven airflow.
Solution:
Humidity caused overflow in Frego, TCL, and White Westinghouse units.
Solution:
Dust and minor refrigerant losses reduced performance.
Solution:
Loose HVAC supply terminals caused tripping.
Solution:
After Caltiq’s engineering-driven HVAC maintenance program, the church achieved:
Caltiq continues to provide dependable HVAC expertise to ensure the church operates with optimum indoor comfort throughout the year.
