Caltiq Scope: Swimming Pool Tile Removal & Installation (500 sqm)
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Al Reem Gardens is one of Qatar’s premier residential compounds located in the rapidly growing Al Rayyan Municipality, just minutes from Education City and directly opposite the Al Rayyan FIFA 2022 Stadium and Mall of Qatar. Developed by Al Alfia Holding, the community spans nearly 200,000 sqm and consists of 504 modern villas, extensive landscaped areas, sports courts, a clubhouse, playgrounds, a nursery, supermarket, mosque, beauty lounge, and professional facility management operated by TDGISERV.
As part of ongoing enhancement and facility upgrade initiatives, TDGISERV, the main contractor and facility management authority, appointed Caltiq Trading, Contracting & Maintenance (CTCM) to execute a dedicated renovation task—swimming pool tile refurbishment.
Caltiq’s responsibility was strictly limited to removal of old tiles and installation of new tile works within the main pool area.
CALTIQ PROJECT SCOPE (ONLY TILE WORKS)
Caltiq undertook the complete renovation of the swimming pool tiling system, covering approximately 500 square meters, ensuring a durable and aesthetically upgraded finish.
1. Removal of Existing Swimming Pool Tiles
Caltiq carried out the full dismantling and surface preparation phase, which included:
- Safe manual and mechanical removal of all existing tiles
- Clearing old mortar, adhesive, and loose substrate material
- Surface levelling and preparation for new tile bonding
- Cleaning the entire pool basin to ensure strong adhesion for new installation
This step ensured the concrete base was stable, clean, and ready for high-quality reinstatement.
2. Installation of New Swimming Pool Tiles
Once the surface was prepared, Caltiq proceeded with the installation of new pool tiles in accordance with TDGISERV’s material specifications.
Works included:
- Setting out tile layout for alignment and symmetry
- Applying approved waterproofing and bonding materials
- Installing high-quality swimming pool tiles across the 500 sqm surface
- Ensuring proper tile spacing, leveling, and edge finishing
- Applying high-strength, water-resistant grout suitable for chlorinated environments
- Final washing, polishing, and quality checks
The result was a smooth, durable, and visually appealing swimming pool finish.
3. Coordination With Main Contractor (TDGISERV)
Throughout the project, Caltiq maintained close coordination with TDGISERV to ensure:
- Compliance with facility guidelines
- Safety procedures for workers and residents
- Minimal disturbance to the surrounding villa community
- Adherence to timelines and material standards
Caltiq executed all works as a subcontracted specialist under TDGISERV’s management framework.
PROJECT OUTCOME
Upon completion of Caltiq’s tile renovation works, the swimming pool benefited from:
- A fresh, modern aesthetic aligned with the premium standards of Al Reem Gardens
- Improved durability and water resistance of the pool surface
- Enhanced safety and finish quality
- Long-lasting performance suitable for a high-usage residential compound
The upgraded pool now serves residents with a renewed look and improved structural reliability.
